Chaos March - Server Configuration

Hi guys, Zoidberg asked me to post the server configuration for a Chaos March server, so here it is.

Important: before starting a server, remember that now the game port must be forwarded on the router to the hosting machine, and that the Qtracker hostfile fix must be applied on the hosting machine, or the server won't show up in the list.

Optional: please tell me "http_pass" and http port so I can set up a fancy tool (like this one here: http://hq.bks.ca/zaephyralpha/rcon/ ) that will let us easily manage the server. It's basically a web-based multi-user XMLRPC rcon tool (that implies you should also forward the http port on your router, if you want this tool to work)

Note: Server password is not set, and please don't set it. There is a reason for that, but I'll explain that later.

Great, thank you very much! I'll try to set up server unto next weekend and test it a little, but i'm still not sure, that everyone can connect to it and that ping will be acceptable, so maybe we'll have to organize something like stress-testing before the drops or, for example, at break between rounds...

Старчайлд по моей просьбе выложил конфиг сервера для Chaos March. Как ты мог заметить их сервак не очень стабилен, но лучшего они предложить не могут. Поэтому я решил поднять сервак у себя и посмотреть, не будет ли на нем лучше. Кстати, те, кто имеет возможность поднимать серваки в МВЛЛ тоже могут попробовать, т.к. у меня из-за динамического айпи и заморочек провайдера могут возникать разнообразные трудности и проблемы - например с подключением.

Well, we have players from all over the world, so I seriously doubt that American players will have good ping on your server, but at least we would solve the problem of the packet loss (which is the main issue of Huntress)

About stress testing, yes, of course. We will play a classic drop before starting the Chaos March and then will decide on which server we will play.

Of course, the best server available for everyone is Funbox, but I already asked Haarp for that, and he's not going to give us control on it :/

That's okey, don't worry. I translated point of your message in previous post.
